A Beautiful Stonefields Estate Wedding
SHEILA + MATT
Sheila and Matt met back in the summer of 2013 when they stumbled upon each other in the beer tent at Bluesfest. That night, they were inseparable and discovered that they had a ton of mutual friends and so much in common. They spent the rest of the summer getting to know each other but there was an end in sight as Matt was only home for the summer and had to return back to Ireland to finish up 4 more years of dental school.
They knew that they had something special going on so they decided to embark on a long-distance relationship that brought them a lot of FaceTime calls in all hours of the day and night, many hours spent crossing the Atlantic Ocean, and Sheila moving over to Ireland to be closer to Matt. And here they are today, seven years in and they tied the knot despite what was going on in the world this year!
They had a lot of ups and downs trying to plan this wedding. They had four different wedding dates and then decided last minute that September 19th was the one. It turned out that Matt's grandparents got married on that same day in 1942 and were lucky enough to have Matt's grandmother, Flo, attend the wedding. That was really special.
It was so great working with Derrick from Union11. When we finally figured out what day we were having the wedding, he juggled around some of his staff at another event so he would be able to come and shoot ours at Stonefields. We are so thrilled with how well he captured the day, it's so wonderful going through our photos and reliving the day over and over again. He was able to capture us, our friends, and family so naturally; and we had so much fun doing so!
