A Beautiful Le Belvedere Wedding

It took four years of friendship and four years of dating, but finally Jonathan popped the question on a Thursday night in February. After surprising me with a dinner at Atelier (which he had masked as a belated Valentine’s Day dinner), I arrived home to yet another surprise - a slideshow of some of our best memories from the past few years! After watching the slideshow, Jonathan got down on one knee right in our living room and asked me to marry him.

We knew right away that we didn’t want to spend very long planning our wedding, so with a five month timeline, we dove right into it. Our energy was spent on the details we believed would contribute to an evening of fun that still reflected us as a couple. Our love of food and of Ottawa and its surrounding region led us to choose Le Belvedere, with its stunning natural backdrop, as our wedding venue. We wanted to keep things simple so we didn’t have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, we started the day off getting ready with our closest friends and then had our family walk down the aisle.

When we were interviewing photographers, Derrick’s friendly personality and beautiful portfolio made him stand out to us right away. On our wedding day, we felt that Derrick and Benny made an effort to get to know our friends and family, which made our photography experience that much more enjoyable. Derrick captured our wedding in a way that truly reflected our day, and we couldn’t be happier with our photos!
