A Rideau View Wedding
LYDIA & CRAIG
Craig and I have known each other for our entire lives. We both grew up in Barrhaven and attended the same elementary school and high school. We didn’t really have the same group of friends, but when we were 17, Craig decided he wanted to ask me on a date. With the help of a few special friends, I eventually agreed and we have been together ever since!
We are big travellers, so in 2015, we decided it was time to go on a big adventure. We booked a trip to Europe where we would drive through Paris, London, Scotland and Ireland. Little did I know, Craig was planning on proposing to me midway through our trip while driving through the Lake District in England. Although this was his original plan, he couldn’t wait that long and decided to propose to me on the very first day of our trip. Luckily, our first stop was Paris! After a lovely evening on a Seine river cruise, Craig took me to the Love Lock Bridge, got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I was over the moon and so excited to be his wife!
Once it was time to begin planning, I knew my first order of business was to book Union Eleven as soon as possible. I’ve been involved in three weddings where Union Eleven was the photographer and each one was better than the next. It was a no brainer that we had to have them photograph our wedding day. Fortunately for us, Davey was free on our wedding date and we snapped him up as quickly as we could. Davey captured our day beautifully and he was such a joy to work with. He made us feel so beautiful and comfortable while he was taking our photos. He kept us laughing the entire day and I can honestly say he made our day even better than expected. We are thrilled with every single shot and we are constantly showing them off to our family and friends. We are able to relive the best day of our lives, all thanks to Davey’s stunning photos. He is an absolute pro and I hope we get the opportunity to work with him again.
As for the wedding day itself, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. We wanted it to be a day filled with love, laughter and fun, and that’s exactly what we got. The weather was incredible, the ceremony was beautiful and laid back, the food was delicious, and most importantly every single person we cared about was there to celebrate with us. What’s better than that?
