Evelyn + Adam | Les Fougères | Chelsea, QC Wedding
Evelyn and Adam's big day was blessed with some nice summer weather and an amazing circle of family and friends. The celebrations started pretty early on in the day while everyone was getting ready... perhaps even earlier, if I dare say so. Seeing the fun dynamics there, I knew I was in for an awesome wedding shoot! Evelyn and Adam's first look was so beautiful with the view of the Gatineau Hills in the background. Capturing their raw reactions to seeing each other for the first time that day was really special.
The ceremony was very intimate; Evelyn and Adam included their siblings in almost every aspect of it - the singing, the readings, the officiating. I have to admit, I totally teared up when I saw Adam's brother, sister and mother cry!
A little rain during cocktail hour had us all huddled under the big white tent, but we had way too much fun shooting formals to really notice the weather! The reception was an unbeatable mix of phenomenal food and fun banter. The speeches, the stories and the advice that poured out of everyone was extremely touching. The lanterns were unforgettable, to say the least! (Buyers beware: these can get stuck in trees!) And of course, the dancing was off the hook!!!
Every year I have a wedding that really stands out for me. It's usually the one where everyone is just so warm and welcomes me with open arms - the bride and groom, their wedding party, their family, their friends and even the vendors! The day flows so well, even with those small hiccups and glitches... And at the end of the day, I find myself lingering and shooting a few more shots, delaying the inevitable and pushing my end time out because I'm kind of sad to go. As far as this year's wedding season goes, this wedding was it - Evelyn and Adam's big day really stands out for me and it truly was a pleasure to have captured it.
