An Ottawa Centretown Wedding

RUTH & ANTHONY

Anthony and I met as kids growing up at the same summer camp. We became closer when we went through the same leadership training program in high school, and remained good friends from then on. About 10 years later, I decided Anthony was someone I could marry, so we started dating. Our whole dating relationship was long distance. I was studying in New York when we first started dating, and then 3 months after I graduated and moved back to Ottawa, I left again to go on tour with The Phantom of the Opera for the next 4 years. Anthony proposed during that time on our vacation to Germany/Austria, at the top of the Reischtag dome in Berlin. Knowing that Phantom would be playing at the NAC in Ottawa 11 months later, we planned our wedding to coincide with their stop, so that my closest friends and "phamily" could be there to celebrate with us.

Planning our wedding from the road wasn't easy, but everything about Union Eleven was a breeze from the very beginning. We fell in love with their photojournalism style, and Anthony chose Kristin because he felt her description captured who we are as a couple. From our portrait shoot to the wedding, Kristin was professional and personable. Her vast knowledge and experience helped guide us through all of our decisions, and made our day run smoothly. She and Courtney were a blast to hang with, and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Their creativity and passion were so evident throughout the day, and we knew we were going to love the photos, even before we saw them. We don't consider ourselves to be photogenic people, but it was easy to just be ourselves and let them capture the candid moments. Thank you to Kristin, Courtney, Jessica, and the entire team at Union Eleven!
